FROM REALTOR TO LAND INVESTOR

John Abbott's real estate journey began in the early 2000s when he became a licensed Realtor and started investing in rental properties. Like many investors during that time, he experienced the ups and downs of the 2008 real estate crash. While many people were getting out of real estate, John was looking for the next opportunity.

That search led him to raw land.

WHY RAW LAND?

What started as an investment quickly became a passion. John realized that land offered many of the benefits of real estate without many of the challenges that come with rental properties. No tenants. No late-night maintenance calls. No leaking roofs or broken air conditioners. Just solid assets with long-term potential.

Today, through Abbott Investment Group, John specializes in buying, selling, and owner-financing land throughout Nevada, Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico, Wyoming, and other western states. Over the years, he has helped hundreds of buyers become landowners, many of whom never imagined owning property would be possible.

Although land is now his primary focus, John has never completely stepped away from traditional real estate. He and his wife, Jennifer, still enjoy purchasing, remodeling, and flipping homes whenever the right opportunity comes along.

If you ask John, though, Jennifer deserves most of the credit for making the houses look beautiful. While she's choosing paint colors, flooring, fixtures, and finishes, John is usually the one with a calculator in his hand making sure the numbers work.

John believes buying and selling land shouldn't be complicated. Whether he's purchasing a small rural lot or helping someone finance their dream property, his goal is always the same: treat people fairly, communicate honestly, and make the process as simple as possible.

When he's not working, you'll usually find him traveling throughout the West looking at properties, spending time with his family, or planning his next real estate project.​
